A play with music about the virtuoso black violinist George Bridgetower, who performed at the premiere of Beethoven’s so-called Kreutzer Sonata in Vienna. After a row with the composer, Bridgetower came to live in England. He died in Peckham in 1860

The Bridgetower Sonata gives us a glimpse into the creative but short-lived relationship which blossomed between the violinist and the composer – and a taste of the wonderful music which grew out of it
