Shipshape  Theatre   company


Shipshape Theatre specialises in productions of biographical drama, often with a musical element. It was set up in 2016 to stage performances at FitzFest, a local music festival featuring composers who lived in central London’s Fitzrovia district. Shipshapes’s aim was – and still is – to create theatre work in which actors and musicians have an equal and interactive role.



Shipshape produced Sue’s last three plays, The Man from the Sleepy Lagoon, Tell Me the Truth about Love, and most recently Silence and Joy, a new musical drama about Ludwig van Beethoven. This was due to be performed in 2020 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth. Instead, it was digitally launched in 2020 and 2021.  To watch these recordings, go to  and
